The fire and the fury

I'm going to be playing A World Aflame (AWA from here on in) in 15mm.  I need to construct the various blast templates and flame markers (Kill Zones to use the term from the rule book) but I wanted to scale them down.  I'm going to be using the standard movement rates and weapon ranges from the book but wanted the command ranges scaled to 15mm and the blast templates too in order to limit an entire company from being wiped out by a template designed for 28mm figures.  It was a simple matter of multiplying all the sizes by 54%.
The command range for a unit commander is 15 inches, giving the ability for the unit leader to shout and gesticulate to everyone in this range.  The HQ command range is 5 inches being a more ordered and formal command structure.  Scaled down (divide by 2 and round up to nearest inch) gives us 8 inches and 3 inches respectively.

There are three sizes of blast template.  They are referred to by their diameter in the rule book apart from the one occasion of a slip into radius which I trust is not a typo error.

The Large Kill Zone

Used for the effects of artillery fire.

The Medium Kill Zone

Used for aircraft attacks, gas shells, smoke bombs and minefields.

The Small Kill Zone

Used for grenades.

The small flame template is for man-portable flamethrowers.

The large flame template is for vehicle-mounted flame throwers.

As you can see I got a bit of glue on the large template which made a mark on it.  Normally I would re-do it however time's winged chariot hurrying near and all that.

¡No pasarán!
