A cook house in Jarmara - Completed

Taking a short break from the endless painting and varnishing of the masses of rank and file I decided to  finish off the only other building required for Jarmara; the cook house.

In a last minute decision I decided to add some flagstones to the outside of the building rather than just continuing to base with earth and flock.

Once again the paint job was a fast but effective.

This is the building where George Aitken, the political commissar and temporary commander of the battalion when Tom Wintringham was wounded, rallied the retreating troops from the battle.  To his shame he did admit that some of this rallying was at the point of a pistol.  However this threat was not enforced has he strongly disagreed with the shooting of deserters.

This is the main street entrance to the Roebuck (the pub this building is modeled on).  If you do decide to visit and enter through this door please take a few seconds to look at the vintage photographs on the inside which, apparently, all British pubs have to hang on their walls.

The bar staff insist that the gent in the following picture is the spitting image of me with a mustache.

¡No pasarán!
