The boys in blue

Time to paint and base up the forces of law and order.

I apologize in advance if this subject is a little Anglo-centric. 

The forces are represented by the Guardia Civil (Civil guards) and the Guardia de Asalto (Assault Guards).  The Civil Guards are the closest to a regular police force and are famous for their tricone hats,  I have painted their uniforms as a standard dark blue.  I have seen them painted green but all photographs clearly show a blue uniform with a slight tinge of turquoise.  At 15mm scale this would be barely noticeable.  During the war roughly 53% of the civil guards supported the Nationalist rebels.

The Assault guards are the heavy version of the Civil Guards.  There isn't really an English equivalent.  Around 28% of the guards supported the Nationalist force. 

Both assault and civil guards are fielded in squads of ten men.   They have average Initiative and good Morale.  For a bit of variety I have added a SMG troop to the Civil Guards to increase their short and mid range firepower and limit their long range damage.
