Logistics
One of the best aspects that I like about A World Aflame is the
logistics rules. This produces a real
feel of the supply problems that both sides faced during the war.
Each player has to nominate a supply area at least 20 inches
from their highest command unit at the start of the game which is loaded with selected
supplies. The player can resupply units
from this ammunition dump during the game.
It was the only a matter of time before I constructed a simple base with
some “colour” items on it to represent the ammunition dump.
The players have to physically move supplies from the
reserves to units. The amount of “points”
that can be moved depends upon the unit moving the supplies. This ranges from two men moving boxes between
them to a large truck hauling supplies.
I have already painted a couple of horse and carts for the
game. These have been joined by a couple
of hand cart figures from the good people at Peter Pig.
Speaking of
logistics, during the game the commanding officer may be required to change the
orders issued to squads under their command.
At the moment I have a couple of figures that are designated as
runners. I have now added to this with
three dispatch riders on motorcycles from Minairons via Peter Pig.
¡No pasarán!
